Backyard Botanics is a small family business in the Sierra Nevada Foothills promoting garden-based herbal care for the whole family. We hand-craft botanical products featuring local organic and wildcrafted herbs from backyard gardens and farms.
We use no chemical preservatives, artificial fragrances, or petroleum-based ingredients. Our products are especially well-suited for babies, young children, the chemically sensitive, and anyone who wants to increase their use of pure and body care products.

Unfortunately, there are no legal standards in the US for organic or natural body care. Nearly all commercial body care products, even those advertised as organic, have chemical ingredients that would not pass USDA organic standards. Phthalates, formaldehyde, and 1,4-dioxane are just some of the ingredients found in these products (and due to labeling laws you won’t necessarily find them listed under ingredients).
