Healing Salve: a great multi-purpose salve that helps heal small cuts and abrasions.
Herbal Antiseptic: a tincture-based remedy to help clean cuts and scrapes.
Bite & Sting Relief: a clay-based treatment for drawing out insect bites and bee stings.
Herbal Bandage: a herb powder that helps to stop bleeding for minor cuts.
All products are made with local, organic herbs and other pure ingredients that are chemical free (and fragrance free if you choose). Each participant will leave with:
-their own pocket size first aid kit, bundled in a small jute bag
-the recipes and know-how to make them again and again at home
-basic knowledge of how to make a tincture, medicinal oil, salve, and poultice
-a list of resources for getting started at home and expanding your herbal repertoire, including a list of what medicinal plants you can easily grow in your own backyard
Class length: This is a 1-day course, from 9:30 - 5:00.

Cost: $60 if paid before June 27, or $70 if paid afterwards.
Additional $10 material fee. Trades may be negotiable.
Teens with participating parent: 50% off tuition, plus materials fee.

Get an introduction into basic herbal preparations by making your own herbal first aid kit! We’ll use herbs that you can easily find in foothill gardens or wild lands, as well as other ingredients you are likely to already have at home.
No prior experience with making herbal remedies is necessary. You will learn the basics of how to collect and process herbs, from picking to preservation. We will focus on plants that are safe and easy to grow in the garden and/or abundant in nearby wild lands. Together as a class, we will make:
